Distinguished and Famous people from Brooms Head
Brooms Head's distinguished local service includes the volunteers who protect communities during fires. An official award record establishes a specific connection through the village's rural fire brigade.
🚒 Geoffrey Towner
Geoffrey Towner received the Australian Fire Service Medal in the 2012 Australia Day honours. The NSW Rural Fire Service's annual report identifies him as a group captain with Brooms Head Rural Fire Brigade, and contemporary reporting recognised his frontline firefighting and leadership in the Clarence Valley district. His inclusion rests on documented local service, rather than a claim to national celebrity. It is a reminder that a community's notable people can include those whose work is most visible when their neighbours need practical help.
